In 2016, the Government of Canada launched the Healthy Eating Strategy (HES) which aims to improve the food environment in Canada to make it easier for Canadians to make a healthier choice. Under this Strategy, several complementary and mutually-reinforcing initiatives have worked together to improve healthy eating by improving information, nutrition quality of foods, protecting vulnerable populations, and supporting increased access to, and availability of, nutritious foods.
This session raises awareness of the Government of Canada’s Healthy Eating Strategy and provides updates on its related initiatives.
