In this session Dr. Caroline Tuck provides a brief review of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and then shares the mechanism of action of the evidence-based Low FODMAP diet in the management of this Syndrome. Caroline reviews how to implement the Low FODMAP diet in three phases: Reduce total FODMAP intake, Re-challenge to assess tolerance, and Long-term ‘maintenance phase’. By combining practical tips and real-world experience with a solid research base, Caroline delivers a dynamic presentation on how Registered Dietitians can utilize the Low FODMAP diet to assist individuals living with IBS.

Dr. Caroline Tuck, Post doctoral research fellow, Accredited practising dietitian (AUS), Gastrointestinal Research Unit, Queen’s University Kingston


Caroline completed her PhD at Monash University in Australia, while continuing to work as a dietitian in the field of gastrointestinal disease and food intolerance. Her PhD thesis was ‘Adjunctive therapies to the low FODMAP dietary management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome’.
