Poor food intake is common in older adults living in long-term care residences. To date, research has highlighted the problem but has failed to identify factors associated with poor food intake that are amenable to change. Making the Most of Mealtime (M3) is a national program that explores the complexity of eating behaviour for residents based on research with 640 residents from 32 homes in four provinces. Join our speakers as they discuss the importance of multicomponent interventions to address poor food intake in long-term care, provide novel data collection tools that you can use in your practice to enhance care, and illustrate the stakeholder engagement process used in the M3 study that you could apply in your own advocacy efforts.
