Dr. Rodway-Norman's presentation focuses on the cultural and medical issues relating to the not-insignificant trans population, and the clinical needs thereof. It will provide insight from a patient perspective in dealing with the health care system as a transgendered person, some basic language and sensitivity training in treating our transgender patients as well as some of the specific medical issues related to transgender patients such as hormones that may affect a patient's nutritional status.
