The objective of this session is to examine specific nutrition recommendations to support injury recovery for the general population who are involved in recreational sport and activities as well as the high-performance athlete. The session focuses on examining the current research on the recovery from musculoskeletal injuries, along with strategies around potential concussion protection and concussion recovery.


After listening to this presentation, you will be able to:

  • interpret nutrition interventions within the literature that may help to support clients with their sport related injuries,
  • apply specific nutrition recommendations to support clients with their recovery from musculoskeletal injury in conjunction with their return to play programs,
  • compare specific nutrition interventions that show potential protection in high concussion risk sports and activities, and
  • compare specific nutrition interventions that may support concussion recovery in conjunction with return to play and return to learn programs.
