Sustainability is a shared responsibility and dietitians are well-positioned in food systems to collaborate between diverse sectors and disciplines to leverage change and advance sustainable food systems in their organizations and communities. Through storytelling, this presentation will showcase tools, effective approaches, simulations and concrete examples from a variety of cultures of how dietitians can implement sustainability practices at the personal, organizational, community and societal levels. This session includes the voices of dietitians from various backgrounds and roles in sustainability that utilize the research, technology and innovation to accelerate change in their practice. Join this session to be inspired to translate the stories you hear into your practice.
After this session, participants will be able to:
1. Relate to opportunities to incorporate sustainability into their current practice
2. Apply principals and identify resources (including evidence in the PEN system, an international toolkit and learning modules) that support sustainable food systems.
3. Empower nutrition professionals in a variety of roles to take action and accelerate change
