Cultural safety is the continuum of the following building blocks: cultural awareness, cultural sensitivity and cultural competence. Dietitians have the opportunity to work with diverse populations in various clinical settings. They have a responsibility to provide sound nutrition care based on recognition, respect and maintenance of the cultural identity of every patient and client. During this event, attendees will learn about the steps involved in providing culturally safe nutrition care to meet the needs, expectations and rights of their clients.
