Rural and remote dietetic practice offers benefits and opportunities not experienced in more urban settings. This includes the opportunity to have greater independence and autonomy while experiencing and developing competency in a variety of practice settings. However, rural and remote dietitians sometimes report a sense of personal and professional isolation.
In this session, Lea Polkinghome and Robyn Turner will share the results of a recent Canadian national survey of rural and remote dietitian experiences as part of a broader discussion of strategies to support rural and remote dietitians, foster collaboration, and identify opportunities for professional growth and career enhancements in rural and remote practice.
